The goal of any fisherman is to catch fish. The ability to understand the body of water allows you to choose the tactics of fishing, the right bait and tackle. Compliance with the rules in the absence of experience is the key to good fishing.
Exploring the reservoir
Depth. Depending on the temperature, the fish is kept at different depths. So, in warm water the fish always sticks to the surface, while in cold waters the fish goes to the depth. According to the Coriolis force, on the side of the right bank the depth is greater, on the bends it is deeper under the concave bank, and in the lower part of the arc it is worth looking for the deepest place.
Transparency. Each season is characterized by a certain transparency of the water. If you come on a fishing trip and see that the reservoir is too muddy, you will not catch large fish, but the enlightenment of the water promises a good catch.
If there are signs of strong stratification of the water, most of the fish move from the deeper layers to the higher ones. Therefore, it is worth using the appropriate bait and tackle.
Vegetation. For every type of fish, there is “good” and “bad” vegetation. Catching grass pike, for example, should be on the border between clear water with thickets of sedges or reeds.
External signs. Swirling gulls and terns are almost 100% guaranteed fish availability. But splashes are not always a guarantee of large fish.
Fishing in an unfamiliar body of water
Going to fish to a new place, it is worth assigning roles. So in a short time, you can experimentally find out which technique and which bait works in that place. In the early days, you should not count on a good catch, and therefore you need to go for 5-6 days, then you will definitely return with the catch.
