It is necessary

  • Glass beaker, small vase or flask
  • Decor: seashells, pebbles, beads, etc.
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of gelatin
  • 1 tbsp. l. glycerin
  • 1 glass of water
  • Mug or bowl
  • Pot of water for a steam bath
  • Pencil, pen or stick
  • Essential oil
  • Food coloring
  • Wick (you can make it yourself, buy it ready-made or remove it from a regular candle)

Instructions

Step 1

Mix glycerin and gelatin in a mug or other container, pour a glass of cold water and leave for 1 hour. During this time, the gelatin will swell.

Step 2

In a glass, which will later be a candle, put decorative elements, such as shells. They can float up when you pour liquid, so you can glue them onto superglue or pour a gel mixture into them and displace the air. Dip the wick into the glass and fix it on a pencil or stick so that it stays straight.

Step 3

Heat the mixture on a steam bath to completely dissolve the gelatin grains. It is necessary to ensure that the solution does not boil.

Step 4

Then add a few drops of essential oil and dye to the gel mixture. These ingredients are optional and can be omitted.

Step 5

Pour the mixture carefully into the glass with the decor, making sure that the wick remains upright. After that, you need to leave the candle for a while, let it harden.

Step 6

Check and make sure the mixture is frozen. DIY gel candle is ready!
