Bolero is a short jacket that can be draped over the shoulders. To make this garment not only beautiful, but also warm, knit it from natural merino wool, alpaca, angora or mohair.
It is necessary
- - 500 g of thick merino wool yarn or alpaca;
- - knitting needles # 7;
- - 1 button.
Instructions
Step 1
Pre-tie the pattern and calculate the knitting density of the bolero. Optimum knitting density from thick yarn 15 loops and 24 rows in a sample of 10 × 10 centimeters.
Step 2
A bolero can be knitted in the same way as a jumper or cardigan, but it is more convenient and more interesting to knit it in the transverse direction. Cast on 31 sts for the side of the front. Distribute them as follows: 1 hem, 24 loops for the pattern with the loops removed, knit a semi-patent elastic band on 5 loops, 1 hem.
Step 3
Next, knit, making increases from the armhole side, 1 loop in every third row, and then 4 times, one loop in every second row. Then add 25 stitches at the same time. Along the bottom line, to round off the line of the middle of the shelf, at the same time, decrease one loop in the third row, and then alternately in each fourth and second row 14 times one loop at a time.
Step 4
At a height of 13 cm, knit a V-shaped neck, for which close 5 loops from the side of the neck. Next, close in every second row 6 times 5 loops and once 4 loops. Remove the remaining loops on a pin or on a piece of thread in a contrasting color. Tie the second part of the front symmetrically to the first one in a mirror image.
Step 5
Cast on 31 stitches for the back of the bolero. Distribute the stitches as described in step 2. Then knit, making increments from the side of the armhole, one stitch in every third row, then 4 times, 1 stitch in every second row. Then add 25 stitches at the same time.
Step 6
At a height of 13 cm, close three neck loops, then decrease from the neck side 3 times on one loop. After knitting 23 cm, add in every second row 3 times, one loop from the side of the neck.
Step 7
Close at a height of 35 cm from the side of the neck 25 loops, and then begin to make decreases in every second row 4 times on one loop. Close the remaining loops at a height of 40 cm.
Step 8
For the sleeve, cast on 35 eyelets and knit with a semi-patent elastic band. In the third row, add one loop on both sides.
Step 9
Next, add 6 times in every tenth row, 1 loop and 2 times in every eighth row. At a height of 43 cm, start knitting the sleeve ridge, for which, close 3 loops on both sides, 11 times 21 loops and 3 times two loops. Close the remaining loops in one row at a height of 58 cm from the beginning of knitting.
Step 10
Sew shoulder and side seams. Transfer the loops from the pin to the knitting needle and knit the placket along the 33 cm neckline with 1x1 elastic. Close all loops. Tie the other half of the plank in the same way.
Step 11
Knit a buttonhole on the right side placket. Sew the back seam of the placket, hand sew it to the neckline. Sew on the button. The warm bolero is ready.
