Bolero is not only a wardrobe item, but also an adornment of a little fashionista. It will both warm and complement the outfit: both festive and everyday. And you can tie it yourself.

Step 1
The pattern of this bolero is a rectangle with one side equal to the sum of the back length from the neckline to the hip line and the desired collar width, and the other side equal to the sum of the back width and two sleeve lengths. Tie a yarn pattern: about 12 loops by 12 rows. Measure the sample and calculate how many loops you need to dial and how many rows to knit to get the canvas of the required size. Round the number of loops to a multiple of four.
Step 2
Cast on the needles the calculated number of loops and knit with a 2x2 elastic band (alternately 2 front and 2 purl loops). When knitting the seamy side, knit as the loops look, that is, over the front - front, over the purl - purl. Start and end each front row with one front loop, and each purl, respectively, with one purl. That is, knit the front rows as follows: 1 front loop, 2 purl loops, 2 front loops, …, 2 purl loops, 1 front loop. This will allow you to create a more neat and inconspicuous seam when assembling the garment. In this way, knit the fabric until it reaches the required length.
Step 3
After knitting a rectangle, close the loops not tightly. Fold the fabric in half across. Make side seams, leaving hand slots.
Step 4
Tie the edges of the bolero with an elastic band or an openwork pattern. Use knitting needles or a crochet hook. You can also decorate the bolero with crocheted flowers or satin ribbon flowers, knit strings or sew on a bow, button, hook closure. Try the hooded option. To do this, after assembly and before strapping, collect additional loops along the edge of the neck and knit until the fabric reaches the required height. Close the loops and sew the fabric on top to form a hood. Experiment with the harness and elements and you will get your own unique bolero, which will be a real decoration for the little fashionista.
