A very convenient thing for a baby and an older child is a jumpsuit. It is easy to put on the baby, nothing gets lost and does not bulge even during active movements. The jumpsuit can be knitted with cotton yarn for hot days or soft woolen yarn for cooler days. When choosing yarn for overalls, choose natural cotton or soft merino or alpaca wool. Such yarn “does not bite”, which means that the baby will be comfortable and cozy in such a jumpsuit.
It is necessary
200 grams of yarn, crochet hook or knitting needles
Instructions
Step 1
You will need about 200 grams of yarn to knit a long sleeve jumpsuit. It can be knitted or crocheted. Using a hook, the jumpsuit is knitted as follows. Make a paper jumpsuit pattern according to your baby's measurements. Knit two pieces of the main body of the jumpsuit according to your size, then sew these pieces along the shoulder seams, step seam and back. Knit the sleeves separately.
Step 2
Start knitting the main parts of the jumpsuit with an elastic band 1 * 1 or 2 * 2. Work 4 or 6 rows. Next, knit the main fabric with double crochets. Knit the sleeves according to the pattern, starting with an elastic band. The elastic can be tied longer and folded in the form of cuffs. As the baby grows, the elastic can be folded back, and the jumpsuit will fit for several more months. After you have knitted all the pieces of the jumpsuit, sew the crotch and shoulder seams. Sew back and front details to the beginning of the fastening planks. The fastener should be done in front because babies spend more time on the back during the first months of life. It also makes it easier to put on a jumpsuit.
Step 3
Next, knit the planks. Tie the clasp area on the left and right sides with six rows of single crochets. Make button loops on the top placket. Knit two stitches and skip two stitches from the previous row. Tie the neckline with one row of single crochets and three rows of elastic. It remains to sew on beautiful buttons, and the jumpsuit is ready.
Step 4
Knit the jumpsuit in the same way. Make a typesetting row and knit a few radians with an elastic band. Then go to the main pattern. Having knitted the required length of the leg, put aside the work and knit the second part of the pants. Connect both parts by typing five loops between them and knit as one canvas.
Knit the details of the front separately and symmetrically. To cut the neckline, close 6 loops, then in every second row close 3 loops, 2 loops and 1 loop. Close the rest of the hinges.
Step 5
Tie the sleeves. To do this, make a typesetting row, knit 5-6 cm with an elastic band, then add a few loops and go to the main pattern. Finish the part at a height of 20-25 cm.
Step 6
Sew the details of the jumpsuit on a sewing machine or by hand. Tie a placket on the front details and sew on the buttons. Tie the hood to make it more comfortable for your baby. To the middle of the neckline, cast on loops and knit a canvas with the main pattern equal to the height of the baby's head. Do the same on the other side of the neckline. Sew the details of the hood. The jumpsuit will be soft and very comfortable.
