You can decorate the neck of outerwear or sweaters with the help of such a practical and beautiful element as a hood. Even if it is not provided on the pattern of the product, you can build the hood yourself, knowing some sizes and the sequence of actions.

## It is necessary

## Instructions

### Step 1

Take a measuring tape and measure data such as the length of the neck of the product Z. To do this, find out the length of the neck of the back and the shelf (you can measure it by the pattern, or you can measure it by the finished product). Also, you will need to know VK (hood height). Pass the tape over your head from the base point of the neck on the left to the same point on the right. Divide the resulting distance by two, this will be VC

### Step 2

Take a sheet of graph paper or tracing paper, a pencil, a ruler and start building a pattern for the hood. First, draw a right angle with the vertex at point O. Set aside vertically the amount of rise of the stitching line, usually it is 2-5 cm. Designate the point with the letter K.

### Step 3

From this point, draw a horizontal line to the right by 0-2 cm. This will be point K1. Measure the distance Z from it, with the addition of two centimeters per dart (if a dart is needed). Where this line intersects with the horizontal line O, mark point K2. For example, if Z = 21, then K1K2 = 21 + 2 = 23 cm.

### Step 4

From point K, set the height of the hood upward (with an increase of 1-10 cm for a free fit) and mark point K3. For example, if VK = 33 cm, and you plan an average increase, then KK3 = 33 + 5 = 38 cm.

### Step 5

From point K3 to the right, set the width of the hood at the top, for this, increase the value of K1K2 by an increase in free fit in width (0-5 cm). Designate the resulting point K4.

### Step 6

Connect the points K4 and K2 with a line. From point K4, lay down the size of the bevel of the hood in front, usually this value is 0-4 cm. Designate point K41.

### Step 7

Divide the K4K3K angle into two parts with a bisector and set the K31 point on it at a distance of 3.5-5 cm from the corner. Smoothly circle the line of the hood through the obtained points K31, K41, K1.

### Step 8

Draw the front line of the hood, its shape depends on the model.

### Step 9

Draw the line of the hood stitching. To do this, divide the segment K1K2 in half and raise the perpendicular from the resulting point by 1-1.5 cm. Smoothly circle the segment K1K6K2.
