For a beautiful and original design of the neckline of the product, the ideal option would be to create a hood. You can knit a hood using shortened and decorative rows. In this case, the hood is knitted on the basis of the assembled product.
Instructions
Step 1
Cast on loops around the edge of the neckline. Tie the neckline from the front and from the seamy side, in order to hide the "flaws".
Step 2
Work two rows completely, then start knitting using the shortened rows.
Step 3
Knit one half of the neck of the front.
Step 4
Along the neck of the back, go to the second piece of the front, knit the shortened rows again.
Step 5
Next, knit the fabric evenly. To give the product originality, the hood can be knitted using decorative rows, consisting of several garter stitches, while the distance between the decorative stripes is equal to 2/3 of the number of loops dialed along the neck of the back.

For the back of the head, increase the loops, however, if the width of the hood is sufficient, the increase can be omitted.
Step 7
Continue knitting to the desired length.
Step 8
Close the loops along the edges of the side parts of the hood, and leave the middle ones open.

Work in the middle by joining the sides. Use the “sew-on bar” method to attach. In this method, the hood and strap are knitted separately. Knit the bar with garter stitch. In this case, the strap is attached to the hood in the process of knitting it with an extreme loop at the end of each row of the front side.
Step 10
Tie to the end of the front row, the last loop must be removed from the knitting needle. Afterwards, insert the hook under the edge loop of the main blade, pick up the removed loop from the bar and pull it under the edge loop of the main blade. Place the loop over the knitting needle. The result is a connection between the product and the strip.
Step 11
Unfold the fabric and knit a purl row, then knit the first and last hem loops.
Step 12
Tie the edges with elastic to complete the hood.
