A scarf-hood is an excellent solution for those who do not like hats, but want to feel comfortable in severe winter frosts. You can buy it in the store or knit it yourself. Knitting a scarf-hood is quite simple and requires only the ability to work with knitting needles.
It is necessary
- - 800 g of woolen or angora yarn;
- - straight knitting needles # 10 and double-sided auxiliary knitting needle;
- - darning needle.
Instructions
Step 1
Cast on straight knitting needles exactly 193 stitches and tie the first two rows with garter stitch. It's very simple. This is when all rows - front and back, are performed only with front loops.
Step 2
In the next row, knit two garter stitches, 189 knit stitches, and again two garter stitches. The front surface consists of the front loops of the front row and the purl loops of the purl row.
Step 3
After 20 cm from the beginning of the fabric on 70 extreme loops, knit four rows of garter stitch on both sides and close these loops. The middle part of the product - 53 loops - while it is performed with the front stitch.
Step 4
To start the hood, tie two loops in garter stitch, 49 loops in front satin stitch, two loops in garter stitch. And after 21 cm, subtract three middle loops in every second row on the front side. To do this, you need to remove one loop as the front one, knit two loops together with the front one and stretch the resulting loop through the removed loop. After 39 cm from the beginning of knitting, close the remaining 31 loops on the wrong side with the knit.
Step 5
Assemble the product. To do this, fold the hood in half with the right side inward and connect all the loops of the last row with each other using a darning needle.
