It is easy to convert old chairs into new ones using covers. The hall, the living room, where the holiday is held, looks more solemn if there are chairs with covers made of shiny fabric. The vestments for them can be sewn according to the pattern or without it.
Cutting and sewing
Over time, the upholstery of the chairs deteriorates. It is expensive to drag them, it is much more economical to sew covers on chairs with your own hands. With such furniture, the living room looks more beautiful during a family celebration, anniversary. For such cases, a light monochromatic slightly shiny fabric is suitable, golden brocade will act as a decorator - you need a little of it. Depending on whether the chairs are completely covered with covers or not, tight or with folds, they will need 1-2 meters of fabric. It is more economical to sew several products at once. Then you can cut it so that almost all the fabric is involved.
If the chair has a straight back and a leg, no sewing is needed. Take a measuring tape, attach its edge to the bottom of the right back leg of the chair, lift it up, lead it through the back, seat. Further, it passes through the right extreme point of the seat, along the front right leg drops to its bottom, and stops near the floor. When making measurements, the centimeter should touch all the parts through which it passes.
Write down the figure you get. Let's say it is "X". Now we need to find out one more value. See which is wider, the distance between the back legs or the two outermost points of the chair's seat. Measure this and that, write down the longest length, let it be "U".
Place a sheet of fabric on the right side. Measure the "Y" value horizontally at the top of the left edge. Put as many cm down as there are in "X". Add 1, 5 from the two smaller sides, and from the smaller 1 cm seam allowances, cut a rectangle along the markings.
Lay it on a chair with the wrong side up - from the hind legs, through the back, seat, to the front legs. You have the sides of the chair uncovered with the fabric. On each side, you need to sew on a large patch in the form of a rectangle or square. Measure how wide and how long it should be. Set these two measurements aside on the fabric. Having added 1 on three sides, and 1.5 cm from one bottom.
Now take some pins. Pin the sides of the first sheet in two places between each other - from the top of the back to the beginning of the seat. Now pin the sides you just cut into place. Attach them with the wrong side up. Carefully remove the workpiece from the chair. Sew the pinned joints. Cut the bottom of the product. Stitch the 2 corners of the upper back sidewalls. Iron the product.
Decorating
If you wish, sew a frill to the bottom of the chair. To do this, cut out a strip of gold fabric 10-15 cm wide. To find out its length, measure all 4 legs along the perimeter below. Add the same amount or half to this figure. Cut the tape, hem the bottom edge, fold the top with folds, sew to the bottom of the cover.
Cut a strip from the same fabric, the width of which is equal to the width of the back (+2 cm), the length of the ribbon is 28 cm. Fold in half lengthwise, sew 2 large edges together from the inside out. Turn onto your face. Also sew together a strip of fabric 16 cm wide and 14 cm long. After you have sewn its 2 large sides, sew the smaller ones. You now have a fabric ring. Pass the strip of gold brocade that you created before. Insert one edge into the left and the other into the right side seam of the back. Only then grind the seams of the chair cover. The bow should show off at the back - between the back and legs.
