A do-it-yourself pillow for a chair is definitely a useful thing. It can become exactly the highlight of the interior that your apartment lacked, and it is very convenient to just sit on it. And to sew it, having some skill, is not at all difficult.

It is necessary

  • - Sewing machine;
  • - the cloth;
  • - threads;
  • - needles;
  • - filler for the pillow;
  • - lightning;
  • - paper for patterns.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut a square out of paper to fit the seat of the chair on which the pillow will rest. You will use this square as a pattern.

Step 2

Cut out the details of the pillowcase. To do this, cut out two pieces of the same size from a dense fabric according to the pattern. Add a 1-inch seam allowance to the size of the pattern on each side. Seam the sections with any hand or machine overlock stitch.

Step 3

Sweep and then sew on the details of the napert, leaving ten centimeters unstitched on one side. Remove the basting seam, turn out the pillowcase and fill it with a suitable material over the remaining unsewn edge. It is easier and more economical to stuff a pillow with unnecessary scraps of fabric, but such a pillow will turn out to be very heavy. Holofiber is quite suitable as a light padding material. Fold in the seam allowance and sew the hole through which the padding was inserted.

Step 4

Cut the pattern into four squares. Cut out eight of the same pieces from the fabric you selected for your decorative pillowcase, leaving a 1-inch seam allowance. To prevent the cuts from falling, process them with a overlock seam.

Step 5

Baste and sew four pieces that will be the top side of your decorative pillowcase. Pull out the threads of the basting and iron the resulting part. Do the same with the four remaining pieces of fabric to make the bottom of the pillowcase.

Step 6

Fold both sides of the pillowcase right sides inward. Baste the details and sew on three sides. Remove the basting seam, turn the pillowcase inside out. Sew the zipper to the side that is not sewn.

Step 7

Wash your pillowcase and place it over your pillow.
