To update the interior, to make objects in it in the same style, it is not necessary to buy new furniture. Better to refresh the old one by stitching covers for almost any item. You can start, for example, with chair covers.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure your stool parameters. Measure and record the height and width of the back of your chair, then all four sides of the seat.

Step 2

Build a pattern. If you want to make a cover for the back, which will cover it like a cape and tied with ribbons on the sides, then it will be enough to cut out a rectangular piece of fabric in accordance with the width and height of the back (+1.5 cm - seam allowance). If the cover will be put on like a pillowcase, then add a few more centimeters to the width - in accordance with the thickness of the back, also do not forget about the seam allowances.

Step 3

Cut out the seat piece. Draw a square on the fabric that is equal to the sides of the seat. To each side of the square, add the length of the cover that seems most suitable to you. The cover can go down to the floor or just cover the seat itself. Place the resulting piece of fabric on a chair, lower the edges of the pattern on all sides so that they are adjacent to the legs. Draw lines from the corner of the seat down along the leg. Do this on all four corners. Fabric that puffs up at the corners is contoured. Put the pattern on the table and cut out these outlined parts (do not forget to add 1, 5 cm for the seams everywhere) - you will get darts.

Step 4

Fold the upper and lower sides of the back pattern twice 0.7 cm and sew them. Fold the part in half, right side in, and sew the edges.

Step 5

Fold over and sew over the edges of the seat piece. Sew on the two front corners of the darts. On the remaining sides, fold and sew them, but do not join; Sew ribbons to them to secure the cover when you put it on the chair. You can also use buttons or Velcro straps.
