The web, knitted with a patent or semi-patent elastic band, appears to be bulky and elastic. Patent, aka English, rubber band looks smoother than usual. But the product requires a lot more yarn, and such a pattern is not done very quickly. Semi-patent knitting requires fewer threads, but it looks no less rich.
It is necessary
- - Knitting;
- - knitting needles by thread thickness.
Instructions
Step 1
A semi-patent rubber band can be knitted in two ways. The choice of option depends on what kind of product you are knitting and on which knitting needles, straight or circular. On straight lines, the pattern will be obtained on the seamy side of the work. The number of loops must be odd.
Step 2
Cast on the stitches in the usual way, pull out one knitting needle and remove the hem. The first row will be considered the front row. It is knitted like this: remove 1 loop untied with a crochet (the thread before work, that is, the loop is removed as purl), 1 front. In this way, alternate the loops to the end of the row. In front of the hem, you should have a loop removed with a crochet.
Step 3
In the second row, knit the removed loop together with the front crochet, and the purl one according to the pattern. At the end of the row, in front of the edging, there should be a yarn and a loop removed in the previous row. Knit them with the front. Repeat the pattern from the first row.
Step 4
On circular knitting needles, it is more convenient to perform semi-patent elastic in another way. It is also suitable for straight lines, moreover, it knits somewhat faster than the first option. Similarly, cast on an odd number of stitches on straight knitting needles or an even number on circular knitting needles. In the second case, close the knitting in a circle. Knit the first row, alternating the front and back loops. For circular knitting, be especially careful at the end of the row. There should not be two identical loops in a row. When making a pattern with straight knitting needles, the purl should be in front of the hem.
Step 5
In the second row, knit the front loops from the front loops of the previous row, and the purl loops according to the pattern. On straight knitting needles, at the end in front of the hem, the front should be obtained. From the third row, the pattern is repeated.
Step 6
Close the semi-patent rubber band in the same way as the patent one. In the last row, do not yarn over. Knit yarn overs and knit stitches of the previous row together. In the last row, knit the outermost loop and the one following it together according to the pattern, that is, so that the front loop is obtained above the front one, and the purl one over the back one.
