This pencil case is perfect for both writing instruments and cosmetics, especially since you can vary its size yourself.
To sew with your own hands such a pretty pencil case, felt, threads in the color of felt, a zipper of the required length, jewelry to taste (a piece of lace, small pendants in a vintage style, beads, beads, etc.).
1. First, determine the size of your future pencil case. To do this, think about which pencils (cosmetic or regular) you will use it. If you are going to sew such a pencil case for cosmetic pencils, then the length of the pencil case can be about 22 cm, since the length of the cosmetic pencil can be up to about 20 cm. Choose the diameter of the pencil case from 5 to 10 cm.
2. Before cutting a pencil case out of felt, cut out its parts from paper. You should have three details:
but. two identical circles (I recommended the diameter of the pencil case above),
b. rectangle (1-2 cm longer than the longest pencil that will be stored there and with a width equal to the length of the circle (detail a)).
Please note that the zipper should be purchased after you have determined the desired size of the pencil case, so that it does not get too short.
3. Sew the parts in the following sequence:
- Sew the zipper to the edges of the rectangular piece, close it.
- Turn the pencil case inside out, attach one round piece to the end of the pencil case and sew carefully around the entire circumference. Sew the second round piece in the same way. The pencil case is ready.
if you are going to make a complex decor of the pencil case, then all the decorations must be sewn on immediately after you have sewn the zipper. If, to decorate a pencil case, you simply sew a few beads by hand, a ready-made applique, then this can be done after the pencil case is completely ready.
