If you dream of seeing your face not in a photograph, but in a drawn portrait, but do not have the opportunity to order an artist's work, do not be discouraged: the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop are at your service. With the help of this popular graphic editor, you can turn any photo into a stylized drawing that can be used both as an independent photo in processing, and as an element of a greeting card or photo collage.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the portrait photo you want to process. Do a little touch-up, removing imperfections of the skin with the Spot Healing Brush Tool. Then open the Filter menu and choose the Brush Strokes> Crosshatch option. Adjust the filter so that it is barely visible on the surface of the photo.
Step 2
After that open the Create new fill or adjustment layer option in the Layers panel - create an adjustment layer and select Black & White from the layer menu. In the Adjustments tab that appears on the right, adjust the colors of the photo so that it becomes black and white. Adjust the saturation and contrast of the black and white image, and then use the Brightness / Contrast item to adjust the brightness and contrast.
Step 3
Create a New Layer, lower its Opacity to 30% and fill it with completely white. Click in the toolbar on the Pen Tool - the pen tool. In the layers palette, open the Paths tab and click Create New Path. With the selected pen tool, begin to draw paths - Bezier curves, marking with points the beginning of each of the curves.
Step 4
Gently curving the curves, outline the outline of the face in the photo, and then to turn the created path into a real line, create a new layer and select the brush tool. Set the desired brush settings - it should be round, not wide (3 pixels) and soft. On the Shape Dynamics tab, open the Size Jitter item and change the Control parameter to Pen Pressure.
Step 5
On the Paths tab, right-click on the photo and select Stroke Path from the menu and check the Simulate pressure option. This way, the path line will automatically be outlined with the brush, and the line will mimic a real art brush.
Step 6
Continue tracing the main features of the face, clothes, hair and jewelry in the photo using paths, and then repeat the same steps as described above to turn the Bezier curves into real lines. Remove the semi-transparent white layer, and then paint over all excess parts of the photo with white - for example, paint over part of the background and clothing so that the main silhouette of the person depicted is preserved in the photo.
Step 7
Create a new layer and work on the image with a soft white brush, lightening the overly dark and bright parts of the photo. The drawing from the photo is ready.
