The task of the producers of Street Dancing 2 was to replicate the incredible success of the first dance film, and the directors were to preserve the spirit of street dance with which it was imbued. And if in the 2010 film, completely filmed in 3D, street dancers fought with ballet, then in the second they had to withstand a new battle - with incendiary Latin American salsa.

For their new film, director Max Jiva and Dania Pasquini did not limit themselves to looking for British actors, as they did for the first part of Street Dancing. This time they selected performers from all over Europe. As a result, a company of talented dancers from different countries gathered on the set of the picture. Many of them had no acting experience, but were already popular on the street and had an army of their own fans.

The main roles required professional dancers with acting experience. They were the German Falk Henschel and the Algerian Sofia Boutella. Curiously, according to the script, Sofia's heroine prefers Latin American dances, while the actress herself is a prominent representative of the hip-hop world. Her partner Henschel, on the other hand, was already familiar with salsa.

The plot lines of the first and second films are very different, but the directors have introduced several already beloved characters into the new picture. They were George Sampson and Akai, as well as the dance group The Flawless. In addition, the prequel featured high-level star Charlotte Rempling. In the sequel, she was replaced by the equally popular Scottish actor Tom Conti.

The script of the film "Street Dancing 2" assumed the journey of the main characters across Europe. Thus, the film crew traveled to Germany, Denmark, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Everywhere dance fans greeted them with joy, armed themselves with cameras and posted pictures and videos on Twitter and Youtube.

The mixture of salsa and hip-hop is rather unusual in dance films. Basically, in such paintings, ballet and street dance are combined, which in the finale gives rise to unusually beautiful duets performed by the main characters. For Street Dance 2, two of the best hip-hop choreographers Richard and Anthony Taluega and Latin American dance director Mikel Font were found.

They approached the work very seriously and from the first days forced the whole group to get involved in the work. Every day the dancers trained for 8 hours, honing every movement. Experienced performers were no stranger to such a schedule, because they are all real professionals. Sofia Boutella suffered the most, she had to intensively study salsa for 6 weeks.

Music is always very important for such pictures, so choosing it took a lot of effort. The directors wanted it to be modern and at the same time with a touch of Latin. They managed to cope with this task with the help of remixes of Cuban music. In addition, the film features songs by Sunday Girl, Angel, Wretch 32, as well as LP and JC.

Max Jiva and Dania Pasquini have been working together for a long time. Their career in the world of directing began with many years of work on the creation of music videos. This rich experience was very useful for them during the filming of "Street Dance 2". This vibrant dance drama gracefully combines love story, creativity and true friendship.
