If you want to create a cute children's toy or decorate a scarf, you need to learn how to correctly and accurately make a fringe, which will decorate any of your work, and also make it unique. There are several ways to create fringe, depending on where you want to apply it.

Step 1
Cut pieces of thread to twice the length of the desired fringe. It will be easier to do this with someone else using a strip of cardboard equal to the length of the fringe. Wrap the casting tightly on the cardboard so that each thread, without overlapping, lies close to the next.

Then cut the threads on one side. Try to do this as smoothly as possible. Take off the yarn, fold it in half and thread it into the base of your garment. This can be done by hand, using your fingers to slide the threads through the hole, or using a crochet hook.

At this time, you hold a ruler and, after the loops are threaded into one another and spread apart, you draw your thread around the cardboard, securing the loops on top. Then loop through again and secure them with your thread around.

Continue until you have the desired fringe length, then tie a knot, remove the cardboard and, if desired, cut the threads at the bottom.

Fringe made of paper or fabric is made mainly for various children's crafts, for example, to create flower petals. To do this, you need to take paper or fabric, determine how long your fringe should be.

For greater accuracy, attach a protective strip to the material (or a circle, if it is a flower bud) and, in the direction towards you, cut the strips to the width you require.
