When choosing a gift for a friend or relative, we focus on his interests and try to choose what will suit this particular person. So why do we wrap an individual gift in a standard package? You can preserve the features of uniqueness in this element of the presentation by creating wrapping paper with your own hands.
It is necessary
- - Paper napkins;
- - PVA glue;
- - mixer;
- - pan;
- - tray;
- - mosquito net / gauze;
- - foam sponge;
- - dried plants;
- - iron.
Instructions
Step 1
Use thin paper napkins as paper material. Pick them up into small pieces. You can use colored napkins - then the paper will end up with a personalized color. White napkins can be painted with any water-based paints - watercolors or acrylics, or you can pour some tea or coffee into the dishes with the material.
Step 2
Pour warm water over the napkins and grind them with a mixer. The result should be a thick, homogeneous mass. Dilute with water if necessary. Pour a tablespoon of PVA glue into the dishes - it will make the paper strong enough. For a decorative effect, you can add small cereals.
Step 3
Find a tray that is the correct size for the paper you want. Cover it with three layers of fine mosquito netting (you can also use cheesecloth). Spread dried flowers and leaves on the net, spread matching woolen or silk threads along and across the surface - they will not only decorate the wrapping paper, but also strengthen it.
Step 4
Pour the pulp onto the prepared surface and distribute it evenly so that the sheet thickness is the same in all areas. Put decorative elements on top again if you want the seamy side of the paper to be beautiful.
Step 5
Cover the tray with three more layers of mesh or cheesecloth. Using a foam sponge, gently blot the entire sheet, moving from the center to the edges. You need to collect all the water protruding to the surface. When there is almost no liquid left, cover the paper with a cotton cloth to absorb the remaining moisture.
Step 6
Place a board or very hard cardboard on the tray. Flip the entire structure so that the paper is on the board. Cover it with another piece of fabric and a board on top. Turn over again.
Step 7
Carefully iron the paper through the fabric. Heat treatment should be continued until the sheet of wrapping paper is completely dry.
