Step 1
Inexperienced needlewomen are advised to choose embroidery of an entry-level difficulty level. Take up the sketch for embroidery, soberly assessing your strength. Refuse from very voluminous and large paintings for embroidery, otherwise you risk not being able to cope with the work and be disappointed in the embroidery process forever.
Step 2
Carefully study the embroidery pattern, preferably black and white. If the scheme is multi-colored, at a certain moment it can energize the eyes. And you will get tired before you even get to the middle.
Step 3
The threads in ready-made sets must be numbered by color. Schemes from the same sets are signed.
Step 4
It is very convenient to embroider in two strands. If you are using a black canvas, it is advisable to put a white sheet under it or highlight it with a flashlight. If you are embroidering with ribbons, use chenille or tapestry needles. They are also called knitted.
Step 5
Iron the finished embroidery from the inside out only. Remember that the canvas shrinks after ironing.
Step 6
If you are cross stitching, make all the ties in the same direction, this will improve the quality of the design of the finished embroidery. Do not pull too long threads, even on the wrong side, as they may show through.
Step 7
Remove the hoop or frame during the pauses between sewing so that no creases are left and the threads and fabric are not pulled out.
Step 8
To keep your embroidery clean, keep it in a plastic bag between work.
Step 9
To make your finished works look better, insert them into wooden frames, stretching well in the corners.
