Behind Enemy Lines is the most popular series of tactical strategies created in Russia. The second part, the most successful, came out more than seven years ago, but is still popular. Fans are not even stopped by the fact that the game practically does not run on modern PCs: this is primarily due to the Starforce protection system.
Instructions
Step 1
Check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements. To a greater extent, this applies to the video card: on the developers' website you can find a number of models with which the game does not start at all, while the rest require the latest version of the drivers. In addition, take into account the capacity of the system, tk. the game does not run on 64-bit computers.
Step 2
In order to run the game on Windows 7 or Vista, you will need to download the latest patch that fixes compatibility issues. After installation, go to the "Properties" menu of the game shortcut and in the "Compatibility" tab select "Run in compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 2". This will bring the game up and running. Unfortunately, the patch was developed for the English version of the game, and therefore will not work with the Russian edition. However, there is an option to install the English version on the licensed disc.
Step 3
Uninstall Daemon Tools if installed. The disk protection system can conflict with this software, since it is created to emulate a DVD drive and poses a potential security threat. Important: uninstall the application through the Add or Remove Programs menu. only this will erase all residual entries in the registry.
Step 4
Find the serial number of the disc. It can be printed directly onto a compact, embedded in a game box, or glued to the back of a package. After installing the game files, the protection system will require you to enter this key. In addition, you will be prompted to go through online activation - you can skip this step.
Step 5
After the first launch of the game, you will need to install the StarForce protection system and restart your computer. In the future, each time before starting, insert the disc into the same drive from which the installation was carried out - otherwise the protection system will not allow starting the game.
