Computer graphics have a lot of possibilities, and by drawing pictures in Photoshop using a tablet, pen and various functions and tools of the program, you can achieve amazing realism and beauty of the image. Often novice artists do not know how to beautifully draw a cloudy sky, giving it airiness, depth and authenticity. Drawing clouds in Photoshop is easier than it seems at first glance. This can be done in two ways, which you will read about in our article.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a new layer by placing it above the layer that you have already filled with the tone of the future sky. Select the Brush tool and set the appropriate parameters for it - the brush should be hard enough, and you will vary its size in painting clouds from 300 pixels to 60 pixels to create a volumetric cloud effect.
Step 2
First, take a 300px brush and set its Opacity to 20%. Draw a soft, rounded shape to serve as the base for the clouds. After that, increase the opacity of the brush to 30% and draw a few more circles around the shape, along its top.
Step 3
After that, take a 100 px brush and sketch out the outlines of the very edges of the clouds. The edges should be light and fluffy. In addition, tint with a brush those areas of the clouds, which should be darker and heavier than others, in order to achieve more volume.
Step 4
Inside the cloud, create enough density with the 100 px brush to give the cloud a texture. Don't just paint with white - add bluish, pale pink and lilac shades to make the clouds look more realistic and beautiful. Add a light source with a yellow brush, adjusting the opacity of the light beam, and paint highlights on the clouds with the same shade.
Step 5
Another simple method for creating clouds is to use the Clouds filter. On the desired layer, set the default color values for the layers (keys D and X), and then open the Filter menu, go to the Render section and select Different clouds. Then open Select from the menu and click on the Color range section.
Step 6
Set the Midtones value on the top row. Delete unnecessary colors with the Delete key and then press Ctrl + D. Create a new layer below the clouds layer and fill it with bright blue or cyan color. In the blending options of the layers, select Overlay and enjoy the view of the beautiful and airy clouds.
