Step 1
Collect your thoughts, to create a creative mood, admire real clouds - creative work awaits you.
Step 2
Determine where you would like to see the clouds. Determine the size of the picture - it must correspond to the dimensions of the room. Take your favorite drawing, photo or draw a sketch. It will be easier to work with the finished image.
Step 3
Prepare the wall for painting. This stage of work is already half the battle, because the wall is given the proper texture. If the walls are covered with wallpaper, then they need to be removed. The wall can be smooth or rough. It depends on what kind of sky you want to see - clear or overcast. On a smooth surface, it is better to depict a clear sky - i.e. white cloud on a blue background. Putty the wall in need of leveling. If the texture of the wall suits you, you do not need to putty it.
Step 4
Using a roller, paint the surface blue. After the background has dried, start drawing the cloud. Take a white crayon and outline the outline according to your sketch.
Step 5
Take paints for the next stage of painting. For wall painting, you can use oil or watercolors, but the most suitable are tempera paints. They do not require special solvents, unlike oil paints, and do not wash out with water, having an advantage over watercolors, which means that it will be easier to keep track of the cleanliness of the wall.
Step 6
Prepare your palette. On it, bring the white paint to the thickness of sour cream. Use a medium-hard foam sponge for painting. It will be difficult to depict airiness with a soft or hard (coarse-porous) sponge.
Step 7
Take some paint with a sponge. With a jabbing motion, apply it along the contour of the drawing. To give the cloud more airiness, outside of its contour, using light poke movements, apply several spots with a semi-dry sponge.
Step 8
Pay attention to the fact that the paint should lie thicker in some places - in particular in the middle, and “melt” towards the edges. Without waiting for complete drying, apply layer by layer in the desired parts of the picture. Be creative, it is not necessary to exactly repeat the prepared sketch.
Step 9
Mix white and cyan colors on the palette so that the blue color is lighter than the sky background. You can add a little gray to the dialed color scheme. Now add volume to the clouds by applying this paint with a sponge. For a natural effect, press harder and lighter on the sponge.
Step 10
Feel free to add light pink or purple shadows in small areas. Do not forget to control the amount of paint on the palette. With the right skill and patience, good results can be achieved; even if you are not an artist, you can be sure you will succeed. And the interior, decorated by you, will undoubtedly give you a lot of pleasant impressions.
