The "Petushok" hat is a man's headdress, which was very popular in the 80s. Initially, the hat was intended for sports, but the representatives of the stronger sex loved it so much that they wore it in a feast, in the world, and in good people. Such hats were sewn from knitted fabric, but experienced needlewomen quickly mastered knitting of this cap on knitting needles.
It is necessary
- - tape measure;
- - knitting needles;
- - yarn;
- - scissors;
- - cardboard.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the matching yarn. Pure wool, with the exception of baby wool, is usually prickly. On contact with exposed areas of the head, a hat tied from such wool can cause irritation. Choose wool with a small admixture of acrylic (about 30-40%), this yarn is more elastic, products from it retain their shape well and do not prick. Measure your head circumference by running a measuring tape across the back of your head, ears and forehead. Tie a sample from the prepared thread, use it to calculate the required number of loops for the cap.
Step 2
Cast on the knitting needles the required number of loops and knit with an elastic band, alternating two purl and two front loops, 4-5 cm. Next, knit with the front stitch to the desired height. To correctly determine this height, place a ruler on the top of your head and attach a loose hat to your head. If the ruler and knitted fabric overlap, start gradually decreasing the loops.
Step 3
For the correct formation of the classic "Cock", divide the polo into two halves equal in the number of loops. Reduce the loops on both sides, in every second row, knitting them with the front threads, three at a time. When the number of loops is 10 cm on the needles, close all loops and sew the top of the cap with a knitted stitch.
Step 4
Sew a cord 10-15cm long with a tassel at the end on top of the "Cockerel" hat. Make the cord from the same yarn that was used for the hat. To do this, cut three identical pieces of thread equal to three times the length of the cord. Tie them in one knot and weave a thin pigtail, the end of which is also secured. To make a brush, wind the thread around a piece of cardboard that is equal in length to its size. For a small brush, it is enough to make 8-10 turns. Remove the yarn and tie in one place with a strong thread. Cut the opposite side. Step back 2-3cm from the edge of the brush and rewind the brush with a solid thread. Attach the brush to the cord and sew to the cap.
