Step 1
Light, softly draped fabrics are perfect for a festive dress. An outfit made of chiffon with an ombre effect will look very beneficial, in which the color of the fabric smoothly transitions from a dark shade to a light one. Use crepe georgette for lining.
Step 2
From chiffon, cut out two parts of the cup and back, four wedges. Then make two straps 4 cm wide, including allowances. Cut out the crepe georgette the same as for the chiffon, excluding the straps. To decorate the neckline line, you will need to make ruffles. To make them, cut out two strips from the main fabric, 2 cm wide and 100 to 120 cm long, depending on which splendor of the frills you prefer. For the bow, make a strip 15 cm wide and 150 cm long.
Step 3
Sew the top of the dress on the sides. Fold each strap in half along each strap with the right side inward and stitch 1cm away from the fold. Then turn them out and iron the edges. Baste the front ends of the straps to the cups.
Step 4
Sew side seams on the top of the lining. Fold it over the top of the dress with the right sides and sew along the neckline. Trim seam allowances as close to the inserted stitching as possible. Fold the lining up and stitch close to the seam on the seam allowance. Then turn it over to the wrong side. On the lining and top of the dress, sweep away the open back hem and mid cuts. Fold in and sweep the wrinkles in the cups. Place the right cup on the left seamy side to the front.
Step 5
On the skirt of the dress and lining, separate the side and front middle seams. Cut the allowances of each seam to a width of 7mm, overcast and press in one direction. Tuck the lining under the skirt with the right side to the wrong side and baste along the edge of the opening above the zipper mark and along the top edge.
Step 6
Sew the skirt to the top of the dress and press the seam allowances down. Sew in concealed zip fastener. Tuck the top ends of the tape over and sew on. On the dress and lining, sew the middle seam separately from the hem to the lower end of the fastener.
Step 7
Sew the back ends of the straps under the edge of the back neckline after preliminary fitting. Trim the ends of the bow strip, the edges of the lower sections of the dress and the lining with a narrow zigzag stitch. Tie the strip with a fluffy bow and sew on the dress over the skirt seam or pin with a brooch.
