When spring comes, and small streams thaw from winter ice in the parks, it is so nice to go with a child to the park and launch model ships on the water. It takes very little time and effort to make such a model, and it will bring a lot of joy to your child.

It is necessary

scotch tape, styrofoam, a piece of loose sailcloth, cardboard, wire, paper cutter, long thin wooden planks, threads

Instructions

Step 1

Begin making a styrofoam body. Use a cutter for this. Cut out the hull, starting at the outline of the deck, sharpen the bow of the ship. Cut the sides and stern obliquely, make the bottom flat.

Step 2

Draw the outlines of the stern, deck and sides on the cardboard. Add 7mm to the lines and draw again and start cutting. This will give the ship's skin patterns.

Step 3

To make your ship model beautiful and exclusive, color the patterns to the best of your skill and imagination. On the deck pattern, mark the places where you will insert the masts, and carefully tape each cardboard model with tape in one layer. Do this to prevent the hull from getting wet when launching the boat.

Step 4

Glue the finished patterns to the foam base using tape or glue.

Step 5

Carve masts and yards from prepared planks. In the process of turning, make the masts with a sharp base and tapered upward. Make rhea from the same planks. Attach them to the masts with wire.

Step 6

Cut out a rectangular sail from the fabric, attach it to the masts with a string. Just make punctures in the corners with a thick needle, thread through them and tie it on the yards. The sail should be narrower in height than in width. Stick the masts in the marked places with the sharp end.

Step 7

Make the rudder to keep the ship straight. Cut two small pieces of cardboard and stick symmetrically at the stern into the foam base, so that it is at the back and can be submerged in the water. Conduct a test launch. If the ship starts to fall on its side, attach a small weight, such as a nut or bolt, to the bottom of the ship. Do this so that the weight hangs on the wire at a distance of 5 cm from the bottom.
