Leave the bad habit of throwing out unwanted clothes in the past. Simple old knitted T-shirts can be used to make a wonderful shaggy rug.
It is necessary
- - knitted yarn;
- - old PVC bath mat;
- - tapestry needle;
- - scissors;
- - cardboard.
Instructions
Step 1
So, first you need to make a working material, that is, a knitted thread. To do this, we cut the old T-shirts into strips 1, 5 centimeters wide. We stretch each strip. Thus, it will spin, and it will become more convenient for us to work with it. Then we tie all the fabric cuts together and wind them into one ball.
Step 2
Next, we cut out a rectangle from the cardboard, the width of which is 5.5 centimeters, and the length is 15 centimeters.
Step 3
Now we start making our craft. We take a knitted thread, its length should be equal to 80 centimeters, and we thread it into a tapestry needle. We insert the needle from the front into the second strip of PVC mat and certainly into the second hole. It is not recommended to start making the product from the edge, as it can easily break. We pull the thread until a tail 5 centimeters long remains on the front side. Then return the needle and thread to the end of the carpet through the hole in the next strip.
Step 4
Next, take the cut out cardboard rectangle and place it on the edge between the strips of the PVC mat. Through this, so to speak, a fence, you need to throw the knitted "yarn", and then insert the needle into the next hole. We do this until the thread runs out. Such a cardboard will provide the same length for the fibers of the future shaggy rug.
Step 5
Then we take scissors and, without removing the cardboard from under the "yarn", we cut it exactly in the middle, that is, where the bend of the threads is.
Step 6
After the thread is neatly cut in the middle, you need to tie the ends of the "yarn" into a knot. We do all the above actions until the base ends. The color and shape of the product depends only on your imagination. A shaggy rug made of knitted threads is ready!
