The brain-ring intellectual game is suitable for schoolchildren of different ages, it develops general erudition and reaction speed. Simple preparations are required to play the game. Start by writing the rules, forming teams, preparing the room, and a list of questions.
The "Brain Ring" game is great for students in grades 5-11. It includes both competition and teamwork, activates thinking in extreme situations. The game can be focused both on general erudition and knowledge of certain subjects (mathematics, history, computer science, etc.).
The venue is the assembly hall. The gym can accommodate more participants and spectators, but the constant echo will make it difficult for the players to hear the presenter and understand the question.
Requisites required for conducting:
- two tables with chairs around the perimeter for teams;
- chairs for teams waiting for their turn to play and spectators;
- tablecloths of different colors;
- Brain installation, which can be assembled by boys during labor lessons, or table lamps to match the tablecloths;
- clock;
- questions that you can find on the Internet or compose yourself;
- scoreboards;
- balls or cards with numbers for the draw;
- prizes and certificates.
Rules of the game:
All participants are divided into teams of six people each. Team captains participate in a draw to determine the order of entry into an intellectual battle. Two teams are seated at the tables.
The facilitator reads out the question, the gong sounds, the teams start a discussion. The maximum meeting time for players is 60 seconds. When the team is ready to give an answer, it presses the signal button of the brain unit or lamp.
If the team gives the correct answer, it scores one point. If not, the second team can continue the meeting until the end of the minute. The second team gets a point if they give the correct answer. If not a single command gave the correct answer, then the presenter himself calls it and moves on to the next question.
After the facilitator has asked all the planned questions (3, 5, 7 questions), the results are summed up. The team with the most answers gets 2 points, the second in this case - 0. If the participants gave the same number of correct answers, then both are awarded 1 point.
Then the teams change at the tables in such a way that each will play with all opponents.
If a controversial situation arises at the end of the game, the contenders are asked additional questions before determining the winner.
The game ends with the congratulatory words of the director, an award, a dance or musical number from the students of the school. You can also end the evening with an out-of-competition competition between the winning team and the teacher team.
The "Brain Ring" game can be made monthly, and at the end of the academic year or semester, a tournament can be held with the winners of the qualifying stages.
