Knitted swimsuits have not gone out of fashion for more than a year, and those that are created with your own hands, and are not bought in stores, are especially highly valued. If you know how to crochet, then you can try to knit a beautiful and stylish swimsuit, because summer is just around the corner. Below you can find some helpful tips.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, choose the right yarn for knitting your swimsuit. Give preference to elastic yarn. Best of all, if it is a yarn with an elastane content. The yarn should stretch, but not stretch, so that your swimsuit does not lose shape. Choose yarns that are pleasing to the body. As a rule, such yarn comes in a yardage of 50 g / 170 m.

Step 2

Decide what you will be making the bra straps from. You can knit regular stitch or double crochet chains (single crochet or crochet). You can get a regular hat gum from the store. It will need to be tied with columns of yarn of the same color as your swimsuit, or another, in harmony with the main color. Choose an elastic that is not too wide so that the straps look neat. By the way, using elastic bands as straps is much more convenient - they will better support the chest.

Step 3

To prevent the bra cup from stretching later, lay it around the edges with an elastic band - the same one that you take on the straps, or a rubber thread (a silicone rubber band used in beading). If you are using a thin rubber band, then knit the last couple of rows with it.

Step 4

To knit a bra cup, take a ready-made scheme on the Internet, adjust it to your size. Decide for yourself whether you need extra cups or not. In principle, a swimsuit will look good without additional cups, but if you have small breasts or sag a little after pregnancy and breastfeeding, insertion cups can improve the situation quite well.

Step 5

Cups are available from the hardware departments. You can even use push-up cups if desired. Use a thin material to insert the cup. As a lining, you can use supplex (which is used specifically for sewing swimwear in factories) or a special knitted fabric used for sewing underwear.

Step 6

To knit panties for a swimsuit, either look for ready-made patterns on the Internet, or (which is much easier and more convenient) take regular panties and knit, guided by them, adding and subtracting loops where necessary.

Wear your swimsuit with pleasure!
