Step 1
First you need to decide on the size. Then calculate the number of loops you need. For example, there are schemes where three different sizes are indicated at once, and a description of the number of loops is given for each of them. And there are schemes where there is only one size, but it does not suit this particular child. Experienced knitters determine by eye how many loops need to be cast. And for the inexperienced, such a rule is a size of 10 loops. Accordingly, if you need to increase the size by one, then you need to add about 10 loops. If less, then decrease by 10.
Step 2
We decided on the size, chose the model, bought the materials, and began to knit. To begin with, we type loops on the knitting needles, according to the pattern and size + 2 edging. Then we knit according to the scheme. Usually vests are knitted with a single or double elastic band. Then everything is according to the scheme.
Step 3
As a rule, knitting is simple: you can use a herringbone pattern, you can use a smooth cloth. If there is a desire to make a vest with a pattern, then you need to look at the diagram of how it is knitted. The vest is knitted from two parts - front and back. When the work comes to the armhole area, you need to start removing the hinges. Again, proceed according to the scheme. In some cases, 2 loops are removed, then the armhole will be softer. Sometimes more loops are removed. In this case, the armhole will be deeper.
Step 4
When everything is knitted, we close the work. Now it remains to collect the vest. Sew both parts with a large tailor's needle. Then we spray the product with water, smooth it and dry it. That's it, the vest is ready.
