The vest is a rather functional piece of clothing - it is worn both to decorate a costume and to keep warm. In many national costumes there is a vest, richly and colorful decorated.

Instructions
Step 1
Find the fabric for your child's vest. If you are planning to sew a vest to keep warm, then choose woolen fabric, artificial or natural fur, you can also use quilted material with water-repellent impregnation. If you need a vest that is smart, exclusive and stylish, then take denim and decorate it with many bright stripes.
The simplest pattern will turn out if you carefully trace the contours of the child's shirt or blouse, excluding the sleeves. Choose the length of the product you need, the shape of the neckline and the shape of the corners of the vest and draw a pattern on paper. Attach the cut out pattern to the fabric from the wrong side and outline the contours with tailor's chalk or pencil.
If you intend to sew a vest with pockets, then cut out the pockets of the shape and size you need.
Step 2
Cut out the fabric, leaving 4-5 cm on the sides for allowances and for freedom of movement. Overcast all parts on a typewriter or on your hands. If you are sewing an elegant vest, then now is the time to sew on decorative details. For a girl, use lace and braid with beautiful embroidery, artificial flowers and bouquets, stripes with butterflies and dolls.
For the boy, embroidery machines, superheroes and cartoon characters are suitable, military-style stripes are also sold. Place all the details on the shelves of the vest and pin with pins, baste, and then sew on a typewriter.
Step 3
Finish the edges of the details of the pockets with a bias tape. Sew the pockets to the shelf. Sew shoulder and side seams and iron them. Sew the edges of the entire vest, including the armholes, with a bias tape, preferably in a contrasting color.
Sew the buttons onto the product, and on the opposite side, make loops from the tape. For a girl on a vest, you can make ties from bright satin ribbons or use a children's brooch with a safety pin for fastening.
