With careful preparation, indoor plants can last more than two weeks without watering.
How to create a moist environment for plants
- Plants need to be removed from sunlight. Then they will grow more slowly, due to which they absorb less moisture. But do not put them in the dark, a small part of the daylight should be present in the room.
- Take a deep large container, fill it with expanded clay soaked in moisture and distribute it along the bottom, the layer should turn out to be 4-6 centimeters. We put all the pots on it.
- Before the very county, the plants must be thoroughly watered and put on a cellophane bag on each flower.
Drip irrigation
With drip irrigation, it is very easy to save plants from drought.
This method requires a regular plastic eggplant.
You need to take a hot awl or needle and pierce the lid. Then fill the container with water, screw the lid on and stick it with the neck down into the ground.
Important! Before you leave for a long time, you need to calculate how long the container will empty. And whether the soil is sufficiently moistened. If necessary, enlarge the hole in the lid or take a container with a large volume. For those who do not like the option with an eggplant, you can buy a special drip irrigation device. It automatically irrigates the soil with water. There are even pots with automatic watering, but this pleasure is not cheap.
Wick humidification
For this method, you will need polystyrene, a wick and the plant should be transplanted again.
- You need to take an empty pot, put foam cut into small pieces on the bottom.
- Pass one end of the wick through the hole for the outflow of water, which is in the bottom of each jug. And put the other end on top of the foam.
- Pour earth on top of the foam. And plant a plant there.
- The pot must be placed on a container of water, so that the tip of the wick reaches the bottom. This design looks like an old kerosene lamp, only instead of fire there is a pot, and instead of kerosene water.
