Step 1
To cut the metal with a grinder, the master will need only ingenuity - it will not be difficult for most craftsmen to "deal" with it. But during the production of welding, you will have to sweat a little. Therefore, without skill in electric welding, the implementation of such work is very problematic.
Step 2
The main mistake of most novice craftsmen is the wrong choice of the welding mode. During preparation for hot work, it is necessary to determine and set the current generated by the welding machine.

The current strength can be determined visually by applying a small weld on any metal surface.

If, during control welding, the metal of the molten electrode is intensively sprayed in all directions, and grooves are visible at the edges of the seam, then it is better to lower the welding current.
Step 5
In the case when, during the application of the control seam, the metal of the molten electrode lies down with a slide, without spreading along the seam, then the current must be increased.

So, the strength of the welding current has been adjusted, it's time to start directly welding metal parts.
Step 8
At home, when electric welding of parts, the imposition of a horizontal seam is most often used. Beforehand, the workpieces are laid out on a flat surface, and a "mass" cable is connected to one of them, putting on gloves and a mask, armed with a "grip" with an electrode, we make several tacks between the parts. Potholders are short seams, usually no more than one and a half centimeters long. The first tack is always made in the center of the length of the jointed workpieces, then the edges are tacked.
Step 9
Having removed the mask, we check the accuracy of the location of the parts to be welded, after which, having cleaned the tacks from the slag, we proceed to applying the seam with a “boat”. That is, at the beginning of the process, we ignite an electric arc between the electrode and the surface of the workpiece to be welded and, after heating the workpiece, we put a drop of molten metal from the electrode on the joint of the workpieces. Without interrupting the arc, we move the electrode from one edge of the seam to the opposite. This technique resembles the rocking of a boat on the waves.
Step 10
We begin to weld the blanks from above, and we finish applying the seam at the bottom.
Step 11
After welding the blanks on the finished product, using a grinder, the welding seams are removed from the slag, and its surface is prepared for painting.
