Sooner or later, it becomes necessary to connect two metal parts by welding, be it a garden tool, or the installation of any metal structure. It would seem that there is only one way out - to contact a professional welder. But, having bought a welding machine and the necessary equipment, you can learn this art yourself. Practice is the best teacher in teaching.

Instructions

Step 1

At the first stage of training, it is necessary to purchase the electric welding machine itself. For beginners, a machine with a maximum current of 140A and with a device for smooth regulation of the welding current is suitable. A protective mask, jacket, trousers and gloves made of thick leather and tarpaulin are also required.

Step 2

At the second stage, we directly learn to cook. To do this, you need electrodes with a diameter of 2, 5 - 3mm. The "earth" clamp is securely attached to the workpiece, and the electrode must be firmly tucked into the holder.

Step 3

First you need to learn how to light the electrode. Bring the electrode to the part at an angle of 60 -70 degrees, and at a speed of 5 -10 cm / sec, draw the electrode over the part. There will be a crackle and a sheaf of sparks. Then, at the same angle, touch the workpiece and immediately raise the electrode by 3-5 mm. The arc will light up. Guide the electrode along the workpiece to be welded and at the same time, as the electrode burns out, maintain a gap between the electrode and the workpiece from three to five mm. If the electrode sticks or the arc fails, the welding current is too low. Increase it slightly. At this stage of training, it is necessary to develop the skill of maintaining the arc with a gap of 3-5 mm between the end of the electrode and the workpiece to be welded.

Step 4

At the next stage, we learn to weld the bead. To do this, you need to ignite the arc, and smoothly move the electrode along the welding seam. In this case, it is necessary to perform oscillatory movements with an amplitude of 2 - 3 mm, as if "raking" the molten metal to the arc crater. Thus, a reliable weld should be formed with light, barely noticeable waves of weld metal.

Step 5

At the last stage of training, the slag covering the seam is removed, which is formed during the combustion of the flux, which covers the electrode. After the seam has cooled, it is tapped with a hammer, the slag flies off and the electric welding seam opens, shiny with pure metal.

Step 6

After you learn how to make a roller, you can start business electric welding, cook the necessary parts and tools.
