Few have not seen an ordinary slingshot and did not make this simple yard weapon with their own hands in childhood. If you want to remember your childhood and again hold a slingshot in your hands, shoot at targets and enjoy shooting, there is nothing easier - make the slingshot yourself. To make a slingshot, you need a minimum of materials that every adult and child always has at hand - a strong branch of a tree cut at the fork, a good elastic band and material for the heel - usually artificial leather or similar durable and non-stretching material.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a good stick in the woods or in your own backyard that won't break from the tension of the rubber band. Walnut or maple branches work well for this.
Step 2
You can buy a rubber band at the store, or you can cut a piece from a bicycle tube or use a medical tourniquet, as Soviet children most often did.
Step 3
Whichever elastic you use, its width should be 1.5-2 cm, and the length should be comfortable for your hand.
Step 4
On the V-shaped fork of the branch, cut small circular indentations near the ends, and tie the ends of two rubber bands of equal length to these indentations. You attach the remaining ends to the "heel" to which the projectile clings.
Step 5
Cut the platform for the projectile out of imitation leather or thick thick fabric, giving it the shape of a rectangle with rounded edges. In its side parts, make two holes, the diameter of which allows you to thread the ends of a wide elastic band through them.
Step 6
Tie the ends tightly around each hole. To make the elastic sit even better on the branches and on the heel, tighten the knots with nylon thread, copper wire or small clamps made of metal or plastic.
Step 7
Your slingshot is ready - you can choose the shells. It can be both metal balls and dry mountain ash, small stones, and much more.
