Every guitar owner wants to keep his instrument in excellent condition. A good case is indispensable in this situation. Insulated covers are quite often on sale. But they don't always work with custom guitars. You can make a high-quality "shell" for the tool yourself. Modern materials provide a lot of opportunities for this.
It is necessary
- - leatherette or aviazent for the outer part of the cover;
- - penofol;
- - parachute lines or corsage tape;
- - a zipper with a length of at least 50 cm;
- - zipper for a pocket across the width of the case;
- - 2 plastic buckles with latches;
- - graph paper;
- - pencil;
- - a piece of chalk;
- - tape measure;
- - ruler;
- - sewing machine;
- - sewing needle;
- - nylon, lavsan or cotton threads;
- - glue "Moment"
Instructions
Step 1
Build a pattern on graph paper. Circle the guitar. Place the pencil strictly vertically. Make the contour of the neck and head without thickening, along the width of the head. The guitar should fit freely into the case, so increase the pattern by the thickness of the insulation plus another 0.5-1 cm in each direction. For the side deck, draw a rectangle that is five centimeters longer than the perimeter of the main body and the width is equal to the height of the deck. Don't forget about allowances.
Step 2
Transfer the details of the pattern to fabric and penofol. Cut the insulation strictly according to the drawing. On the details of the outer part, make more allowances. Then cut off the excess. Remember that you need 2 main fabric and insulation parts and 1 strip each.
Step 3
The cover can be made with a pocket. It will be located on the top. Trace the outline of the main body to about half of the resonator. Align the pocket with the outline of the outside. You can do it without insulation.
Step 4
Make a handle from a parachute line or bodice. It is a strip about 25-30 cm long. Mark a place for it on the side tape, approximately in the part where the resonator connects to the neck. Sew on or rivet on the handle.
Step 5
The cover can be with one or two straps. Cut off the appropriate piece of the lanyard. It is also more convenient to make two straps from one piece.
Step 6
Start sewing with processing the details. Open the zipper. Align one half with the top edge of the pocket so that the dog is on the front side. Baste and stitch the zipper. Stitch the other half to the top of the cover, aligning the seamy side of the pocket with the right side of the top. Close the zipper. Sweep or chip off the parts along the rest of the seams.
Step 7
Sew the straps to the bottom of the cover. Find the midpoint of the line where the bar meets the body. Step back from this point 3-4 cm down. Fold the line in half, line up the middle with the marked point and stitch. Place a fabric or leather triangle on top.
Step 8
Cut 2 pieces of webbing, each 15-20 cm long. Slide them into the slots of the latches and fold in half. Sew them to the bottom of the cover, about 5 cm away from the semicircular cut. Make sure that the parts are flush and at the same distance from the sides. Reinforce them with leather or fabric triangles.
Step 9
Mark the strip for the long zipper. Measure the zipper, subtract the measurement from the total length of the strip, divide the result by 2. Set aside this distance from the short cuts to one side and the other. Align the half of the zipper and the upper part of the case according to the received marks. Make sure that the "dog" ends up on the front side. Baste and stitch half of the zipper to the strip and then to the top of the cover.
Step 10
Lay out all parts with the wrong side up. Glue penofol to them, leaving allowances. Spread glue on the metallized side of the insulation. Let the parts dry.
Step 11
First sweep and stitch the top of the cover and the strip. Do it on the wrong side. Stitch the bottom to the strip in the same way. Unscrew the cover. Penofol turns out without any problems. Sew the buckles to the straps.
