The art of drawing with henna (or mehendi) has been going on for many hundreds of years, but until recently it remained popular only in the countries of the East. Especially in India, where women paint their bodies with patterns before every holiday. In the West, biotattoos are popular mainly with people who would like to get a regular tattoo, but do not dare. In the end, henna is temporary, this pattern will disappear in two to three weeks. In addition, such drawings are also very beautiful, and you can apply them at home without going to the salon.
It is necessary
Powdered henna, water, lemon juice, eucalyptus oil, a drawing tool (a syringe without a needle or a special horn), stencils and blanks for future drawings
Instructions
Step 1
First, select the drawing that you are going to depict. In general, you can draw anything you want with henna - any pattern or outline, but there are quite traditional patterns made in this way. They look very impressive, beautiful and exotic. If you are unsure of your artistic ability, then prepare stencils.
Step 2
Prepare your paint. Pour the powder from the bag into a bowl, add warm water and lemon juice, mix thoroughly until the consistency of a gruel. Sometimes black coffee, very strong tea, or red wine are added to the tattoo mix. It is believed that they can make the paint more durable and darker.
Step 3
Wipe the area of the skin on which the drawing will be applied with eucalyptus oil - this will make the paint smoother, last longer, and the color will turn out brighter and warmer.
Step 4
If you are not sure that you can draw a neat pattern by hand, then transfer the finished outline to the skin or attach a stencil. Put the mixture for the tattoo into a syringe without a needle, into a special horn.
Step 5
While squeezing the mixture, gently apply the pattern to the skin. Always start painting from the farthest part of the skin from you, so as not to smudge the henna while working. If you drew a sloppy line, you can erase it with a cotton swab dipped in vegetable oil, but the mark will still remain. Try not to apply too much pressure to the syringe or bottle to prevent the mixture from spreading out in a messy spot.
Step 6
Let the paint dry completely. This usually takes anywhere from forty minutes to an hour. Then shake off the dry mixture with a cloth or scraper. To set the result, you can rub the pattern with a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and sugar. If you made a drawing for a specific occasion, you can secure it with hairspray. Just be sure to wash it off your skin after a few hours and lubricate the area with the pattern with cream.
