A good fisherman knows a lot about tackle. And most importantly, he knows exactly how to make and configure it correctly. And the zherlitsa is one of the most common winter fishing tackle designed for catching predatory fish, most often pike. It consists of a fishing line (cord), which must be wound crosswise on a wooden slingshot, and tie this structure to a pole, which you must stick near the hole with an inclination to the water.

Step 1
Tie a hook on a fishing line or leash, on which you pre-bait the fish as bait, and lower the structure into the water. The mechanism works like this: the pike grabs the fish, pulls the line, which is gradually unwound from the slingshot. After the line has run out and the fish has swallowed the hook, you can safely pull it out of the water through the hole.
Step 2
In general, a real winter zherlitsa must meet certain requirements. Ease of manufacture and ease of use are foremost among them. Plus, it must be compact so that the structure does not outweigh itself, but at the same time is noticeable from a long distance.

Working with the gnome and setting it up should start from the bottom. It should, firstly, close the hole from light, and secondly, protect it from freezing, unless, of course, the frosts are moderate, and not a critical mark.
Step 4
The base material can be textolite. It is durable, does not freeze to ice and does not burn your hands. The thickness of the base for the gutter should not exceed 1.5 mm. The most convenient, it is also the most common form of the base - a square with sides of 180 mm. From about the middle of one of the sides, about two-thirds of the width of the base itself, make a slot a little more than 2 mm wide. You will need it to secure the entire rack.
Step 5
It is best to use several girders with different baits at once, while the distance between the holes should be less than 10 meters. The girders can stand for several days. The procedure for checking the girder is a real godsend for a spy. You will need to drill a test hole slightly away from the main hole, then hook the baited line with a hook and pull it through this second hole for inspection and verification. Maybe you need to replace the live bait or the line itself. After all, it is the length of the line that determines the depth of the gutter. If you put several vents, then you can put them at different depths.
