How to catch pike with a spoon and a wobbler

To catch pike with a spoon, tackle is used, consisting of a spinning rod, a strong but not very thick fishing line (0.35-0.5 mm), a metal leash, a reel, a load and the spoon itself with hooks. It is better to buy a braided line, it can withstand heavy loads, this is important if a large pike is caught. But a metal leash must be attached in front of the spoon, otherwise the sharp teeth of the predator easily bite the tackle, and you will be left not only without a catch, but also without a spoon, and a good spoon is not cheap.

When choosing a spoon, you should be guided by your experience, because in some bodies of water, pikes are taken on baits of one color, and in the second they prefer others. In the third, they generally bite only on live bait. There are metal lures from different metals and alloys, there are silicone soft fish, there are hard wobblers and so on. Which bait to choose is up to you.

There are many methods of fishing for pike with a spoon. So, for example, after casting, you do not immediately reel the line onto the reel, but do it in short jerks. A spinner or wobbler will mimic a wounded fish, which attracts a pike. In one place, you can throw a spoon several times, it is better to float the pond with a fan, and then move on along the shore.

How to catch pike with girders

One of the oldest tackle for pike fishing is girders. Previously, they were made from a knot in the form of a flyer, on which a fishing line or a thin strong cord was wound. A hook was tied, a live fish was baited and released into the reservoir. Now there are more modern models of girders on sale, but the principle remains the same. Live bait swims at a short distance from the girder tied to the bush, you can drive a stick into the shore and tie the tackle to it. The pike grabs the fish and swallows it, after which it can no longer swim further than the length of the fishing line that has been unwound from the flyer. You just have to come and collect the catch. The main thing is not to put the vents near the underwater snags, the pike can huddle under them and get confused, it will be impossible to get it. There are winter vents, the design of which allows them to be placed near the hole in the ice.

How to fish for pike mugs

In a similar way, they catch pike with mugs. They have a different design, but the principle of fish self-targeting is similar. They catch pike on mugs from the boat. Several such tackles are lowered into the water, to each of which a live fish is planted on a hook. The circles themselves float with the flow, dragging the live bait along with them. When the pike grabs the bait, swallows it and pulls the line, the circle turns over. This is a signal to the fisherman that the prey is already on the hook and must be urgently retrieved until the pike swims away into the driftwood. When fishing with live bait, you need to know the preferences of pike in this reservoir. Choose those fish that are the target of this freshwater predator.
