Pike fishing is a very exciting activity, especially with a float rod. It does not need to be thrown every 2-3 minutes, like a spinning rod. It is enough to put a live bait on a sharp tee, throw it to the place where the pike stands, and wait.

It is necessary

  • - rod;
  • - coil;
  • - float;
  • - fishing line;
  • - sinker;
  • - leash;
  • - hook;
  • - landing net;
  • - live bait.

Instructions

Step 1

To catch pike on the float successfully, you need to collect the right tackle. To do this, take a sturdy rod, not very expensive, but a simple fiberglass rod. But pay special attention to the choice of a pike reel. After all, if a large fish comes across, then a cheap coil simply will not stand it. Pike fishing line must also be reliable, a diameter of 35-40 mm is enough. Wind the line onto the reel, put on a large float, it needs such buoyancy that the live bait cannot be taken under the water. Tie a leash - metal, but soft, so as not to hinder the movement of the live bait. Also fix the load on the fishing line under the float, at a distance of about 30-50 cm. It all depends on the depth at which you will catch pike with live bait. It is needed so that the live bait does not float, but is kept in the water column. Attach a tee or a single hook to the leash, on which you need to attach live bait.

Step 2

For pike fishing with a float rod, choose a location near the edge of grass growing in the water, near driftwood or trees and bushes overhanging the pond. In such places, the predator loves to lie in wait for prey. Place a live bait behind the back or in another way, set the depth with a sinker and a float and throw the tackle into the water.

Step 3

If there is a pike in the chosen place and it is hungry, the bite will not be long in coming. First, the float will swing and go to the side, then it will stop. This means that the pike began to swallow the live bait. At this moment, make a hooking, and then bring the caught fish to the shore and take it in the landing net. Place a new live bait, if necessary, change the leash and hook. And cast the tackle again, but this time it is better to another place.
