Step 1
First, assemble your pike rod on the float. To do this, you need a regular rod, it can be inexpensive. Attach a spool of line to it, at least 0.35 mm. Attach the float to the fishing line and then the lead weight. Next, tie a metal leash to prevent the pike from biting the line. Attach a single hook or tee to the leash, and you will already put live bait on it. And that's all. The pike tackle is ready.
Step 2
Please note that you need to set the distance from the weight to the float. Determine it yourself, based on the depth at which you will have live bait (live bait). The weight will not allow it to rise to the surface and keep it at a depth. In this case, the bait should be no closer than half a meter to the bottom. Therefore, measure the depth of the reservoir in advance with test casts with special tackle.

Finally, the place for catching pike was chosen, live bait was also caught and kept in a special cage. It remains to attach the live bait to the hook and throw the tackle. Try not to make very sudden movements when casting, so that the fish does not fall off. Although there are several ways to reliably bait bait. For example, pull the leash through your mouth and out the gills, and then pierce it into the dorsal fin. Alternatively, make a loop and secure it behind the gills, and stick the hook into the dorsal fin. In the latter case, the live bait does not fly off even when cast over a long distance.
Step 4
When fishing for pike with a float, it is important that the fish does not drag the float under the water, so take a large one or make it yourself from cork or foam. It is not necessary to take a large live bait, a fish weighing 50-100 g is enough.
Step 5
When the pike bites, the float will sink or move to the side. Do not hook right away, give the pike time to start swallowing prey, usually 5-10 seconds is enough. And then sharply hook and play the fish. Replace live bait and cast again.
