Unlike a pullover, a knitted tunic does not hide the wearer's feminine shape. On the contrary, thanks to the silhouette similar to the dress, it emphasizes the beauty of the chest, the slimness of the waist and the splendor of the hips.

The tunic can be knitted in several ways: with ordinary knitting needles, moving from the bottom up, or with stockings, but already starting from the neck. The result of the first method will be two parts that will need to be sewn, the second - an anatomical raglan emphasizing that does not have side seams. The first is used by beginners who find it difficult to knit openwork patterns or plaits on five knitting needles, but to get a truly feminine tunic, it is better to resort to the second method.

A tunic is a wardrobe item that does not have a slit in the front, so it is never knitted with circular knitting needles.

The collared tunic looks more like a winter sweater, so it rarely contains this element. Her summer options are more common: short knitted dresses with a large round neckline or neckline. Moreover, the round neck is easy to make on stocking knitting needles, while the neckline lends itself more easily to the hands of a craftswoman knitting the fabric from bottom to top with an ordinary pair.

The calculation of loops for a raglan product is very arbitrary: a tailor's centimeter is applied around the neck at approximately the place where the edge of the product will be. Then, according to a pre-made sample, the number of loops to be recruited is calculated. To do this, 32-42 loops are recruited with the same pattern that will be used for the neckline (two of them are edging and will not be included in the calculation). Next, they knit a few centimeters, measure the width of the sample and divide the number of loops by it, after which the found value is multiplied by the girth of the neck at the place where the tailor's centimeter is applied.

A small error does not matter - even an error of 10 loops will result in only a slight expansion or narrowing of the neck.

It is better to start with an elastic band, since it has an even flat edge and tightens the product. In this case, 2-3 cm of the edge does not even have to be added. When moving to the main pattern, it is necessary to conditionally divide the circular canvas into four unequal parts in a ratio of 1: 2: 1: 2, where the 1st part will be given to the sleeves, and 2 - the back and front. At the junction of these parts, a 1st loop is left, on both sides of which, additions will be made in each 2nd row. If the main pattern is braids, then the front loop can be replaced with the corresponding element. For example, the simplest harness of 2-3 loops.

Having knitted the tunic to the armpits, the sleeve loops are removed on a separate thread, and the back and front are combined into one circular fabric. If the product does not have sleeves, then instead of removing the loop, you can close it. Since the tunic should repeat the anatomical features of the figure, after the back and front are enclosed in a circle, it is necessary to perform reductions at the location of the conditional side seams. They are calculated individually, and in order not to make a mistake, it is recommended to remove the circular canvas every 5 centimeters with a thread of a contrasting color and try on. If the result is unsatisfactory, then part of the product is dissolved and bandaged taking into account the error.

In order to avoid the formation of sharp angles of decrease, it is necessary to finish 5-10 centimeters before the waist line. Having passed it, they begin to add loops on the hips, below the product knits exactly. In order not to make complex calculations, changing the number of loops is replaced with a belt or a transition from one pattern to another. For example, from an elastic band made of bundles onto a flat canvas. If there are sleeves, the loops removed for them are returned to the stocking needles and knitted to the desired length.
