Step 1
Find the thread for the blanket. Cotton, linen threads, special acrylic yarn for children are suitable. To knit a blanket for a baby, you will need about 200 grams. The traditional colors for boys are blue, and for girls - pink, however, the plaid can be knitted in any bright color that the child will like, or choose the yarn to match the color of the nursery - beige, pale lilac.
Step 2
If this is the first time you picked up a crochet hook, you need to learn the types of loops that you will use when knitting a blanket. You need to start work with a chain of air loops. To knit one such loop, tie a knot and insert a hook into it. Hook a thread with it and pull it through the hole in the knot - you will get the first loop.
Step 3
In order to knit a chain, pass the hook through the loop you have obtained, hook on the working thread and pull it through the first loop, and now you have the second one. In this way, knit an air chain of the length you need. This will be the width of the blanket.
Step 4
The main technique with which you will knit a blanket is crochet stitches. In order to knit such a column, throw the thread over the hook, pass it into the adjacent loop and, as with knitting air loops, pull the thread through it. Now you have three loops on your hook, which you must connect in pairs in two steps.
Step 5
Knit a chain of chain stitches with crochet stitches, knitting one stitch in each loop. After you have finished the row, knit three stitches and start knitting the next row of stitches. You need to knit the rows until your blanket is the desired length.
Step 6
After you have finished knitting, you can decorate the blanket with ruffles, sew lace around its perimeter, and paste funny appliques.
