The behavior of fish in lakes and rivers varies greatly, therefore, when planning to fish in stagnant water, you should take into account some features that will allow you not only to have a good time on the shore of the reservoir, but also to bring home a great catch.

Step 1
In a reservoir with an enclosed space, the fish does not stand still, it constantly moves in search of food. At the bottom, you can find an accumulation of small fish that go to food for predators, on the surface there is an opportunity to feast on eggs laid by insects. It would be nice to know the bottom topography, as well as the preferences and characteristics of the fish. Indeed, one species of fish does not like bright light, therefore, in sunny weather, it hides in thickets of grass or reeds, another species may not suit the transparency or temperature of the water, and the fish tries to stay closer to the bottom.

There are completely different lures for fishing in stagnant water. The nature of the tackle is chosen depending on the type of fish you are going to catch. For bream fishing, you need a strong line, a reliable rod, and an appropriate hook. Standing water baits are very different from those you are accustomed to using on a river. The consistency and amount of ingredients depends on the depth at which the loot is located. Make sure that the complementary foods are not too thick and sticky. Otherwise, the lump will fall to the bottom and focus all attention on itself, and the fish will lose interest in the bait.
Step 3
The bait made from natural products can be very catchy. Do not forget that the fish in the thickets are looking not only for shelter, but also for food. Carp and carp prefer to eat snails that live in lilies. Choose a small float, plant bloodworms and a couple of worms, and cast the bait to a depth of 50 centimeters. Carp and perch are unlikely to be able to refuse such a tempting offer. After a bite, try to quickly bring the prey to clean water. If the fish begins to go into the midst of the stalks, then you may have problems with playing, you will have to enter into a fight (while you need to take into account the strength of the rig).
Step 4
If after casting there is no bite, offer the fish another bait. Place three corn kernels on hook # 10 (or one seed on hook # 16) or two pupae and one corn seed. Sooner or later you will be able to find the best combination of bait.
Step 5
Remember that the fisherman must hide, so the fish will not see the silhouette of a person in the sunlight, nothing will frighten it. In this situation, bogs (high rubber boots) will not interfere, the fisherman will go into the water, it will seem much shorter. When fishing from a boat, you need to know that the line on the rod should be shorter, the carrying capacity of the float will be reduced. An anchor will not interfere, because the wind can imperceptibly carry the boat from the lured place, which will negatively affect the results of fishing.
