Knitted men's hats have long been entrenched in the world of men's fashion. Knitting a men's hat with knitting needles is quite simple, since the most popular models have a simple shape and pattern. Your task is to do the job as accurately as possible, because the hat will be conspicuous and therefore should look impeccable.

Step 1
Knitting a man's hat is a very interesting process. Looks good on boys and men of all ages with a short cap without a lapel, tied with a simple elastic band. For this model, you only need one 100 gram skein of woolen yarn.
Step 2
Calculate the right number of loops for knitting a man's hat. The easiest way to do this is by tying a 10 by 10 centimeters square of canvas. Measure the circumference of the head with a tailor's meter (along the line of the upper half of the forehead) and attach a knitting pattern to the centimeter divisions. If the fabric that you knitted as an example turns out to be 33 rows and 28 loops. In this case, take knitting needles # 3 (preferably circular) and cast on 142 stitches.
Step 3
Start knitting a hat with a 2x2 elastic band (two front loops and two purl loops) and make a knitted fabric 14 cm in height (you can adjust the size if the future owner of a knitted hat tries on unfinished work).
Step 4
Next, start decreasing the loops in the following sequence: in the next front row, you need to alternate two front loops with two purl ones, knitted together. The row should end with front loops, and the canvas should decrease by only 35 loops (142-35 = 107).
Step 5
Continue to work, slightly modifying the pattern of the elastic: two purl loops and one front loop now alternate throughout this row. It will end with a pair of purl loops. Make 5 rows with this rubber band.
Step 6
On the sixth row, the loop contraction again follows. Knit the front; then knit together two loops, also front; again front, etc. At the end of the row, the elastic will turn into the front surface. At this point, in our example, 72 loops will remain on the knitting needles. Sew 3 rows of hosiery. To do this, knit them from the front side with the front loops, from the wrong side - the wrong ones.
Step 7
Then continue knitting the hat, gradually shortening the fabric to smoothly round the product. The alternations in the working rows will look like this:
- 3 front, two loops are knitted together front and again front;
- 3 rows of hosiery;
- 2 facial, 2 jointly facial and 2 facial;
- knit 3 rows of stockings;
- 3 "stocking" rows; there are 44 loops on the needles;
- alternate the front loop with two subsequent front loop, knitted together.
Step 8
Tie the top of the headdress: purl one row, and then knit each pair of loops together. Your hat is almost complete. It remains only to string the remaining open loops on a short thread of the same color with which the entire product was made. Pull the top of the hat as tightly as possible and use the hook to drag the loose ponytail to the inside of the garment. Lay the part face down and carefully sew the joining seam.
Step 9
This warm and beautiful hat is perfect for a tracksuit or a fashionable jacket. To make this hat you will need:
- yarn "Mondial Delikata Baby" (100% merino) olive, gray or dark blue - 50g / 215m;
- yarn "Mondial Delicata Baby" (100% merino) white, black or other contrasting color - 50g / 215m;
- circular needles No. 4.
Step 10
Before starting work, knit the sample with the front loops. The knitting density should be 20 loops by 10 cm. If your sample fits two loops in one centimeter, knit according to the pattern described below.
Step 11
Cast on 96 stitches. Close the work in a circle. Pull the beacon string to see the beginning of the row. Knit 6 cm with 2x2 elastic (knit 2, purl 2).
Step 12
Next, from the beginning of the row, knit 2 rows with contrasting threads with the front stitch. Then, with the main color of the front satin stitch 2 rows. And so alternately knit strips 6, 5 cm long.
Step 13
To reduce the work, divide the total number of stitches by 4. Knit 2 stitches together and pull through the third at the border of the split. Pull the thread through the last 8 stitches in a circle as you knit. Tighten and secure the end of the thread from the inside.
Step 14
Recently, beanie hats have come into fashion - the simplest and most democratic hats made with ordinary knitting. Usually beanie (they are also called a stocking hat or a sack hat) are knitted with the front satin stitch. At the same time, no finishing elements are used. Such hats fit snugly to the head. The length of the beanie hats is different: normal (26-28 cm) or long (30-32 cm).
For work you will need: yarn (wool or wool with mohair), in 2 additions, 100 g, knitting needles No. 2, 5, darning needle, measuring tape.
Step 15
Before work, tie a control sample of the canvas in order to most accurately calculate the loops and not to tie the product again. Count how many loops there are in one centimeter.
Step 16
Then measure the circumference of the head and multiply the result by the number of loops in one centimeter (on the sample). You will need to dial this number of loops, add two more loops to them - edging.
Step 17
Knit the fabric of the cap on two knitting needles. Tie a 2x2 elastic first. In the first row, knit two front, two purl loops. Repeat the pattern to the end of the row. Knit the second row according to the pattern, i.e. where there were facial loops in the first row, knit purl loops, where there were facial loops, purl. Knit the third and all odd rows as the first. All even ones are like the second. Don't forget about edge loops. At the end of the row, always knit the last loop with the front one, and remove the first one in each row.
Step 18
Elastic knit 6 rows. From the 7th row, knit the fabric with the front stitch 17 cm. Then start decreasing. In every third row, knit 2 loops in one. Then collect the remaining stitches with a needle and tighten well. Fasten the knot and join the side seam.
Step 19
Using the same scheme, you can knit another hat, instead of the front surface, performing a 1x1 elastic band (one front, one purl).
