Origami is the traditional Japanese art of folding paper figures. It appeared in the middle of the 17th century and gained worldwide recognition in the 20th century. Today there are many books on this topic for both children and adults. The crane is one of the most popular figurines that a beginner can handle.

Instructions
Step 1
Buy specialty origami paper (it can be monochrome or decorative with different patterns). Or you can take plain A4 paper that you use for printing on your printer. It has a rectangular shape, and for work we need a square. Fold the paper diagonally so that the two sides (top and bottom) of the paper completely coincide. Cut off the extra strip of paper and you will have an equilateral triangle. When you unfold it, you have a perfect square at your disposal.
Step 2
Find on the Internet or in an origami book the diagram according to which the crane is formed. There are different options, but for the first time, choose the classic crane scheme. Become familiar with all the conventions (arrows, dashed lines, etc.) to understand which way and how to fold the paper. Typically, the diagram is accompanied by a text commentary with explanations of what exactly needs to be done at different stages of the assembly.
Step 3
To make a classic crane, you only need to go through 18 stages. In origami, there are eleven so-called basic shapes, on the basis of which the most complex figures are created. When folding the crane, two basic shapes are used - "square" and "bird".
