One of the most famous origami figurines is the Japanese crane. It's easy enough to make, so even a child can handle it. And the finished bird will not only please the eye, but even flap its wings.
It is necessary
Square sheet of paper
Instructions
Step 1
Take a square piece of paper. Fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Roll the resulting triangle in half again, aligning the sides. Place the shape as shown in the picture.
Step 2
Fold and straighten the top layer of the resulting triangle so that the side corner is aligned with the bottom, forming a square. Flip the shape over and do the same on the other side. As a result, you will get one of the basic origami shapes - a double square.
Step 3
Fold the lower sides of the square towards the center and unfold them back. Flip the shape over and do the same on the other side.
Step 4
Take the bottom corner of the square using only the top layer of paper and fold it up along the intended folds. As a result, you should get an elongated rhombus.
Step 5
Flip the figurine over and do step 5 on the other side. The resulting shape is called the basic bird shape. It is from such a figure that most of the origami birds are formed, including our flying crane.
Step 6
Take one of the "legs" of the resulting shape and bend it sideways between the layers of paper as shown in the picture. This will be the tail of the future bird.
Step 7
Do the same with the second leg, forming the future neck.
Step 8
Bend the tip of the neck inward downward to form a beak.
Step 9
Bend the wings down and lift them again, but not completely. Your crane is ready.
Step 10
Now, with one hand, grasp the front of the crane (under the neck), and with the other, pull the bird's tail. This is how your crane will flap its wings.
