On New Year's Eve, it is customary to arrange various masquerades and carnivals. The mask is an integral part of any carnival costume. The main and only requirement for it is brightness and decorativeness.
It is necessary
- - PVA glue;
- - newspaper;
- - thick paper;
- - kraft paper;
- - cotton cloth or bandage;
- - scissors;
- - petroleum jelly;
- - brushes;
- - clay freezing in the air.
Instructions
Step 1
If you need to craft a long-lasting mask that can be used multiple times, proceed as follows. First you need to make a base: smear your face with petroleum jelly and apply a soft clay. Punch holes for the eyes, nose, and mouth. When the form hardens, carefully remove it, put a roller of clothes inside (so that the mask does not shrink). Cut or tear the newspaper into small pieces, smear the mask model with Vaseline and stick on pieces of newspaper, spreading liberally with glue. This is the first layer.
Step 2
Now paste over the mask with the remaining newspaper pieces. Smooth each piece gently, try to get rid of air bubbles. The third layer should be done using heavy paper and heavy glue. Try to create it with even greater care. Stick the newspaper again. The fifth layer is the most difficult - you need to paste over the mask with a cut cloth soaked in glue. Make sure that the relief you do not need appears.
Step 3
The fabric can be used to "sculpt" future features of the bird mask (optional). Stick the plain paper again, with heavy paper on top. The final layer should be filled with thick white paper soaked in water. Wipe off excess glue, leave the mask to dry on the mold for 3-4 days. After that, you can add various fringes, stick colored fabric, attach a beak, feathers. Don't forget to glue on the ties.
Step 4
You can make a mask in a similar way, but easier. Sculpt a shape from plasticine, give it any relief and size. Cover with 5-7 layers of paper dipped in glue. Leave to dry. After complete drying, carefully remove the mask from the mold and make all the necessary holes. Prime the product with gouache of the desired color, mixed with a small amount of PVA glue. After the paint has dried, decorate the mask however you like. Don't forget to attach the beak and feathers. The beak is made of ordinary cardboard and glued in place of the nose.
