The Japanese art of origami is popular with us thanks to the paper figurine of the bird of happiness. According to legend, such a hand-made bird brings happiness to the fulfillment of desires. Origami's historical roots stretch back to ancient China, although today Japan is considered its homeland. The painstaking process of figurine making is rewarded with positive emotions.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a piece of paper. Make sure the paper is both strong and soft at the same time. It should fold well, but not tear. The default sheet of paper should be square.

Step 2

Fold the sheet in half following the center lines and flip it over. Fold the square along the virtual lines of the two diagonals and flip it over again.

Step 3

Press with your finger in the center of the sheet, bring all four corners together, folding the paper in accordance with the planned lines.

Step 4

You now have a basic square shape. During further actions, carefully monitor where the special non-opening "blind" corner is located.

Step 5

Place the base square on the table with a blind corner pointing upwards. Bend the two lower parts in front of the base, the direction is towards the center line. Your next action is to fold the upper triangle down.

Step 6

Now gently peel back the folded sides. Pull one layer of the future figure up, at the same time bend it along the lateral meridian. Your two "valleys" should be in the "mountains" position.

Step 7

If so far you have performed all the manipulations correctly, then at this stage your crane already has a base and wings are outlined.

Step 8

Now your task is to repeat in detail the previous four steps of origami, turn the figure over and once again repeat the last four steps.

Step 9

You have prepared the basic shape of the bird of happiness. At the bottom, it should already have two "legs", and at the top, two "wings" are visually perceived. In the center between the "wings" in the middle, a triangular "hump" should form.

Step 10

Fold the basic origami shape with the legs down. Now, at the front and back, gently bend the bottom sides from the sides to the center vertical.

Step 11

The next step is to bend both "legs" up and slightly to the sides. Check the line of "legs" and lower them down.

Step 12

To get the neck and tail of the crane, bend both "legs" of the crane inward along the outlined lines. Lower the resulting wings down until they stop, lightly press on the hump of the back between them. Pull the wings slightly to the side.
