When you are expecting a baby, you are overwhelmed with love and tenderness. It is at this moment that I especially want to do something with my own hands - to sit in a comfortable chair with simple needlework and think about the baby who is preparing to enter this world. You will put all your affection and care into cute little things made for an endlessly beloved creature.
It is necessary
- - scraps of fabric;
- - buttons;
- - needles with thread;
- - filler;
- - elastic or lace.
Instructions
Step 1
Try to sew just such a simple garland of soft birds - the pattern is very simple, the materials are available. This toy can be sewn without using a sewing machine, but simply by making simple stitches on your hands. You can take another fabric, you do not have to look for felt. The birds will turn out to be elegant, made of variegated dense chintz or from pieces of flannel. The garland is designed for very young children, so do not forget about the danger of allergies and do not choose fur and "biting" fabrics. If you take pieces from a new cut, then wash and iron them first so that they become soft and safe for the baby.
Step 2
Draw the pattern on cardboard or paper, or you can draw directly on pieces of fabric folded in half. It is not at all necessary to sew the birds the same - let each one be individual! Attach the patterns with pins to the fabric and cut out the details of the toys. Wings and eyes can be sewn before joining the bird's body and padding, or after - as you think is easier and more convenient. Place wings of one color on the body of a bird of a different color. Sew on additional details with a decorative stitch you can sew. Take thick threads in a contrasting color so that the seam is also a decorative detail.
Step 3
Sew the body parts together, leaving a hole for stuffing. Gently push the filler into the hole using a pencil. Sew up the hole. By the way, when you left the seam unfinished, it is better not to remove the needle and thread, but simply continue sewing after filling. This is possible only for toys that are sewn immediately, without turning out. Sew the buttons of the eyes tightly so that the child cannot tear off this small part and put it in his mouth. Sew the toy birds onto a string or elastic to create a garland. This toy can be hung over a bed or on a stroller.
Step 4
Along the way, you can make a twist doll - small children love them much more expensive fancy toys. Make a "baby" from a light piece of fabric by wrapping a piece of cotton wool in the middle and tying this piece, representing the head, with a thread. Wrap the doll in multi-colored diapers, tie a handkerchief or scarf on it. Secure all this with a thick thread or ribbon - the children's toy is ready!
