Sewing a baby bathrobe is a pleasure. Firstly, children are very comfortable models - they have not yet developed figures, so the simplest patterns can be used for them. Secondly, the joy of a child for whom a mother will sew a comfortable dressing gown with her own hands will be simply endless. These robes are very comfortable to wrap up your baby after a bath and put a hood on him so that he does not catch a cold. For a bathrobe, it is best to use terry cloth or flannel.
It is necessary
- Fabric 1.5 meters with a width of 110 cm,
- Wide braid or tape for finishing 3 meters,
- Paper for patterns
Instructions
Step 1
Transfer the pattern to the paper and cut the fabric over it. Parts A, B and D need to be cut out in two. Both parts A can be cut out in one piece. Do not forget to step back 1, 5 cm from each edge, these are seam allowances.
Step 2
If there are two parts A, then stitch the back seam. Fold the front and back of the robe in half, mark the shoulder line at the armhole. Fold B in half along the short line, this is the sleeve of the robe. Mark the middle and bring it to the marked shoulder line. Stitch the armhole on either side of the shoulder line. Repeat for the other sleeve.
Step 3
Detail D, fold in half lengthwise, with the wrong side of the fabric out, this is the waistband of the robe. Stitch it, turn it inside out, iron it and topstitch it to the edge. Mark the place in the side seam where the belt will be located, baste it to the front panel by hand.
Step 4
Fold the robe with the wrong side of the fabric out and sew the sleeves and side seams in one seam along the right and left sides.
Step 5
Fold detail C in half and stitch the hood to the neckline, stitch the top seam. Smooth all seams and process from the inside. If the fabric is terry, you can simply stitch them on both sides along each seam, they will not puff up and rub the delicate skin of the child.
Step 6
Tape off the hem and sides of the robe. You can embroider some bright applique on it if it is monochromatic.
