Today, every self-respecting fashionista strives to get herself a piece of exclusiveness and emphasize her individuality. Choosing accessories, she focuses not only on fashion, but also on the features of her wardrobe, as unique as herself. That is why sewing a youth bag with your own hands will be a real find for such a young lady in solving this problem.

It is necessary

  • - 1.5 m of nylon fabric with a width of one and a half meters;
  • - 40 cm non-woven fabric;
  • - buttons;
  • - zippers (two 12-15 cm long and one 35 cm);
  • - cord tape 3 cm wide and about a meter long;
  • - thermal sticker with an original motive or just a ready-made motive for decoration;
  • - lining fabric;
  • - sewing accessories.

Instructions

Step 1

On paper, make a pattern for the details of the future bag. Fold the fabric in half with the right side inward, pin the details of the pattern onto the fabric using tailor's pins, using the material rationally. Sketch out the details of the pattern with chalk or pencil, add seam allowances of 2 centimeters on each side. Repeat the same for the lining fabric, cutting out the lining details for the bag.

Step 2

Cut out all the parts, overlock the edges of the parts so that they have a neat look.

Step 3

Cut out copies of the bag parts from the non-woven fabric without seam allowances, moisten them with water, attach to the seamy side of the parts cut from the main fabric so that they touch the adhesive side of the non-woven fabric. Cover the parts with an iron (a clean, dry cotton cloth) and run the hot iron over the parts several times.

Step 4

Apply a decorative element to the front part of the bag. If you have a thermal sticker, iron it on. If you are using a regular decorative motif, carefully stitch it onto the surface of the main part.

Step 5

Baste the corresponding parts of the garment together and machine a medium-weight seam. Separately sweep and stitch the lining of the bag with a tight seam. Make sure that the lining of the bag is not larger than the main one.

Step 6

Turn the bag right out. Sew in the lining and attach it to the base with a few tight stitches.

Step 7

Sew in zippers (short in the lining part, forming inner pockets in it, and long in the bag itself).

Step 8

Patch the cord with base fabric to form the handles and sew to the bag.
